Community Oral Health Officer- Nairobi

Position Overview

Bliss Healthcare is seeking an experienced Community Oral Health Officer to provide comprehensive, patient-centered oral healthcare services in Nairobi. The position holder will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, timely, efficient, and equitable dental care to all patients visiting our medical center.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care to all patients
• Assess dental conditions and needs of patients using defined dental patient screening and monitoring protocols
• Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs, including medical history review and dental chart procedures
• Conduct, develop, and mount radiographs; trace radiographs required for corrective treatment
• Undertake treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment, tools, and established oral health procedures
• Manage and maintain dental department inventory, including consumables, equipment, and instruments
• Maintain stock control procedures for dental services to ensure accountability
• Stay current with new developments in the dental profession
• Provide patient education on dental care and hygiene
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Contribute clinical dental expertise to patient care in the facilities
• Perform administrative duties and risk management tasks
• Document patient dental history, chief complaints, and observations; manage laboratory procedures and ensure follow-up on results

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Oral Health
• Registration with the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)
• Valid annual practice license
• BLS Certification
• Proficiency in computer application packages
• Wide knowledge of the health industry
• Technical skills and leadership competencies

Experience Required

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy hospital setting
