Community Oral Health Officer- Kakamega

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care to all patients visiting Bliss Healthcare medical center
• Assess dental conditions and patient needs using defined dental screening and monitoring procedures
• Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs, including medical history review and dental chart procedures
• Conduct, develop, mount, and trace radiographs required for corrective treatment
• Undertake treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment, tools, and established oral health procedures
• Manage and maintain dental department inventory, including consumables, equipment, and instruments
• Maintain stock control procedures for dental services to ensure accountability
• Document patient dental history, chief complaints, observations, and laboratory procedures; ensure follow-up on results
• Provide patient education on dental care and prevention
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Contribute clinical dental expertise to patient care in the facilities
• Perform administrative duties and risk management activities
• Stay current with new developments and best practices in the dental profession

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Oral Health
• Registration with the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)
• Valid annual practice license
• BLS Certification
• Proficiency in computer application packages
• Wide knowledge of the health industry
