About the Role
The Community Development Officer will undertake key duties and responsibilities focused on community capacity building, sustainable development, and equine husbandry improvement within farming communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide trainings to groups and community-based organizations (CBOs) on group dynamics and animal welfare
- Assess and identify community capacity gaps, needs, and root causes related to equine husbandry, management practices, and socio-economic needs
- Develop and implement interventions to address identified gaps, needs, and root causes in a sustainable manner
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and implement relevant adjustments based on findings
- Explore innovative capacity building methods, tools, and techniques suited to distinct community groupings, demographics, and contexts to promote sustainable behavior change
- Strengthen community-based structures among target equine-owning communities to ensure sustainable project interventions
- Identify gaps in and support value addition to resource and material requirements related to community engagement
- Build community group capacity for effective planning, implementation, and sustainable management of livelihood programs
- Prepare and deliver training content, develop learning capacity building road maps with matched session plans, and conduct monitoring visits to follow up on tool utilization
- Mentor community animal welfare ambassadors
- Participate in meetings and initiatives with stakeholders in animal welfare and livelihoods sectors
- Organize field days and outreach programs for farmers in collaboration with other stakeholders
- Support community-based data collection and monitoring activities
Administrative Duties
- Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Manage organizational funds, accounting, and financial reporting in accordance with planned activities
