Commercial/Conveyancing Advocate- Kikuyu

About the Opportunity

A leading law firm in Nairobi is seeking an experienced Commercial and Conveyancing Advocate to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse transactional matters while building strong client relationships across commercial and real estate sectors.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to clients on property purchase and sale processes
• Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions and prepare sale agreements and completion documents
• Ensure proper registration of conveyancing documents with relevant authorities
• Prepare property lease agreements and oversee contract execution
• Draft conveyancing and legal documents
• Provide legal opinions on property, real estate, and commercial transactions
• Prepare and ensure proper execution and registration of security documents
• Negotiate and draft commercial and corporate transaction agreements
• Conduct due diligence on intellectual property issues related to contracts and transactional matters
• Send terms of engagement and fee/disbursement estimates to clients
• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, Land Registry, Government Departments, estate agents, land valuers, surveyors, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and the National Lands Commission
• Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
• Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Commercial and Conveyancing law matters
• Experience in property transactions and real estate law
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and agreements
• Experience liaising with regulatory authorities and stakeholders
