Role Objective
A prominent medium-sized law firm specializing in various practice areas seeks 2 advocates to join their team. You will provide expert legal guidance on commercial and property matters while managing a diverse portfolio of client transactions.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property and real estate
- Draft conveyancing documents and legal documents
- Send terms of engagement and estimates of fees and disbursements
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders such as mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
- Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
- Provide legal opinion and advice on commercial and corporate transactions
- Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts and legal documents, ensuring proper execution
- Offer legal advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling property
- Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions, prepare sale agreements and completion documents, and ensure proper registration
- Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed as scheduled
- Assist with due diligence and other intellectual property issues related to contracts, agreements, and transactional matters
- Prepare security documents
- Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
- Perform any other duties as assigned
