Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate- Nairobi and Nakuru at Emerge Egress Consulting

Role Objective

A leading medium-sized law firm specializing in various practice areas seeks advocates to join their team in commercial and conveyancing law.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property and real estate
• Draft conveyancing documents and legal documents
• Send terms of engagement and estimates of fees and disbursements
• Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders such as mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
• Provide legal opinion and advice on commercial and corporate transactions and matters relating to property and real estate
• Carry out negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial contracts and legal documents, ensuring they are duly executed
• Offer legal advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling of property
• Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions, prepare sale agreements and completion documents, and ensure proper registration of documents
• Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed as scheduled
• Assist with due diligence and other intellectual property issues related to contracts, agreements, and other transactional matters
• Prepare security documents
• Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• Two (2) years post-admission experience in a busy law firm
• Upper 2nd Class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university
• Valid practicing certificate
