Chief Finance Officer - Banking

Position Overview

An established banking company based in Nairobi is seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to strengthen its management team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide overall leadership and management of the finance function. You will be responsible for managing the bank's financial resources and promoting prudent stewardship through the implementation of strong systems and policies of internal control, ensuring the production and accurate application of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer strategic financial guidance aligned with organizational goals
• Formulate and execute financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and cost containment programs
• Map and oversee accounting, reporting, finance, taxes, and cash management functions
• Ensure full compliance with banking regulations, financial laws, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Oversee financial risk management for the entire company, including credit, liquidity, and operational risks
• Monitor financial activities and make recommendations on deviations to improve profitability and efficiency
• Provide counsel to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors regarding financial results, capital structure, and strategic investments
• Oversee relationships with regulators, auditors, financial institutions, and other key external stakeholders
• Monitor internal control, auditing, and corporate governance structures
• Promote process improvements and financial system enhancements for greater accuracy, efficiency, and clarity
• Support business growth and expansion through financial modeling and analysis
• Direct effective capital allocation and balance sheet management
• Lead, develop, and build high-performing finance and accounting teams
