Chief Accountant at Flash Services

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional. We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
• Implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Prepare and approve monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare and file statutory returns
• Ensure compliance with tax regulatory requirements
• Manage month and year-end closing processes
• Prepare annual budgets
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of all control accounts
• Ensure timely preparation of management reports by specified dates
• Manage payroll operations
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
• Provide mentorship to accounting staff and support staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS)
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial stakeholders
• Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software
• Proven numerical competence and attention to detail
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience heading a finance department with demonstrated capability to supervise a team
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Excellent leadership, time management, and team management skills
• Good IT knowledge
• Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential financial information

Required Qualifications

• CPA (K) — Mandatory
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business — Preferred
