Position Overview

The County Government of Kisumu seeks three dedicated individuals for the role of Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III specializing in Building Technology (Masonry).

Employment Terms

• Employment Type: Permanent and Pensionable
• Basic Salary: Ksh 27,900–36,680
• House Allowance: Ksh 3,850–4,500
• Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000
• Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
• Annual Leave: 30 working days
• Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government of Kisumu

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized training in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction
• Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional aids
• Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees' knowledge, skills, and competencies
• Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship of a senior trainer to enhance instructional content and methodology
• Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work to ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts

Required Qualifications

• Kenyan Citizen
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with minimum Grade D (Plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Diploma in Building Technology (Masonry), Technical Education, or Technical Education with specialization in Building Technology (Masonry), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Registration with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET)
• Proficiency in computer applications

• Training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum
