## Title: Assistant Program Officer – Procurement

About the Role

The Procurement Department at the Law Society of Kenya is expanding and seeking a talented Assistant Program Officer to support procurement and asset disposal operations. The department is mandated to provide professional guidance on all procurement and asset disposal matters in accordance with the Procurement Policy and Procedure Manual and established industry standard operating procedures. You will play a central role in supporting the Society's operations by ensuring the timely and compliant acquisition of goods, works, and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with store issuance and inventory management
  • Prepare stock reconciliation reports
  • Maintain and archive records of procurement and asset disposal proceedings
  • Compile and collate data for the procurement plan in line with user departmental workplans and approved budget
  • Prepare evaluation reports
  • Consolidate, compile, and evaluate procurement requirements from user departments
  • Verify invoices and assist with payment processing
  • Prepare purchase orders
  • Expedite procurement orders and track deliveries
  • Conduct supplier appraisal and management of preferred supplier database
  • Manage re-order levels to avoid out-of-stock scenarios
  • Prepare solicitation documents
  • Conduct cost-joint analysis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement and Logistics, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
