## Title: Assistant Accountant
Position Overview
This position reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for managing laboratory debtors' and creditors' accounts and general ledger postings.
Key Responsibilities
- Process timely payments to suppliers to minimize supply chain disruptions and build trustworthy partnerships, ensuring vendors are paid according to agreed terms
- Post invoices and reconcile accounts payable by matching amounts owed to vendors and suppliers with the accounts payable balance, safeguarding the organization against overpayments and fraudulent charges
- Invoice laboratory and training orders to accurately record revenue for tax filings and demonstrate client obligations to pay for goods and services
- Reconcile administrative supplier accounts with sub-ledgers and general ledgers quarterly to verify financial record accuracy
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers to manage relationships and address issues
- Post suppliers' invoices and reconcile purchase prices and warehouse variances to correct discrepancies between LPO and invoice prices
- Adjust entries in payable suspense accounts against related sub-ledgers to correct discrepancies
- Generate invoices for laboratory orders to accurately capture and bill for revenue
- Maintain the integrity of financial reports and contribute to accurate financial statements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Certified Public Accountant Part 2 OR Certified Public Accountant Part 3 (Finalist) or equivalent
- At least one year of accounting experience
Required Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Data entry and data analysis skills
- Experience with ERP systems
- Spreadsheet proficiency, including Microsoft Excel
- Record management skills
