Artisan (Sewerage Attendant) – Grade III - 2 Post at Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology (MMUST)

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for ensuring a conducive living and working environment for staff and students by maintaining sewerage systems, unblocking sewage lines and toilets, and addressing drainage issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to all sewerage lines within the university regularly to ensure a good living environment
• Check all drainage lines in the university daily to ensure they are in proper working condition
• Respond to maintenance requests concerning sewage as needed to ensure satisfaction of affected parties
• Attend to all sewerage emergencies when they arise to ensure students and staff remain comfortable in their living environment
• Offer technical recommendations on escalated issues from water or sewerage units on a regular basis to guide achievement of solutions
• Present proposals to the senior estates officer regarding developments for water and sewerage systems, such as new major pipeline extensions, to improve facilities upon approval
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Requirements

• Government Trade Test Grade II; OR
• Government Trade Test Grade III with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in the relevant trade
