## Title: Accounts Assistant

Job Summary

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to support the finance and operations team in maintaining accurate financial records, managing inventory records, performing regular reconciliations, and ensuring smooth financial operations within the retail store.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Inventory Recording

  • Record daily sales, purchases, and expenses accurately in accounting systems
  • Maintain and update ledgers, journals, and financial files
  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and reports
  • Support cash flow tracking and petty cash management

Stock Management & Inventory Control

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly stock takes
  • Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate variances
  • Monitor stock movements between branches or warehouses
  • Work closely with store staff to ensure accurate inventory documentation

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile supplier accounts, customer accounts, and internal control accounts
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting and inventory records
  • Prepare periodic reports on sales and stock levels

Compliance & Support

  • Ensure all transactions comply with accounting standards and company policies
  • Support external audits and provide necessary documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information

Education & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an accounts role
  • Proven experience in reconciling stock and financial data across departments
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and inventory management software (e.g., SAP or similar)
  • Familiarity with purchasing, stock tracking, and invoice processing workflows
