About the Role

An established school in the Nairobi area is seeking a self-driven, energetic, competent, and motivated educational leader to provide professional, supervisory, and administrative leadership for their primary and junior secondary school operations.

Reporting Structure

The Head Teacher will report to the School Board of Directors and be responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and management of the primary and junior secondary school, including driving school growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Articulate, share, and ensure the school vision is clearly understood and acted upon by all staff and stakeholders
• Oversee curriculum implementation in accordance with school procedures and Ministry of Education policies
• Lead the development and implementation of teaching approaches, methodologies, and schemes of work
• Develop annual school objectives, targets, and quality indicators to ensure high-quality education and strong student performance
• Set performance targets and goals for school staff through participative processes
• Conduct annual reviews based on standards of leadership, teaching, and learning across areas of responsibility
• Monitor syllabus coverage, teaching quality, and effectiveness of learning outcomes
• Analyse and evaluate student performance data and implement appropriate actions to improve teaching and learning outcomes
• Provide leadership for co-curricular activities and school-based events
• Maintain high levels of discipline for both teachers and students
• Build and maintain effective relationships with parents, education partners, and external stakeholders
• Define staff responsibilities and accountability structures
• Prepare termly school reports for presentation to the Board of Directors in collaboration with school management
