Job description

We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. The Senior Software Engineer– LMS & MIS will be responsible for proactively leading, designing, and implementing the LMS/MIS roadmap and solutions, while collaborating with cross-departmental teams. This role plays a critical part in strengthening Pezesha’s core banking infrastructure and ensuring operational efficiency across Kenya and Uganda. Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of the LMS/MIS roadmap and associated technical solutions.
  • Manage and resolve all LMS/MIS issues raised by the Finance, Credit, and Data teams.
  • Define and evolve the LMS/MIS roadmap into a robust core banking module for internal use.
  • Develop and implement long-term, scalable solutions to recurring LMS issues.
  • Lead Pezesha’s core banking technology strategy, ensuring a solid and sustainable technical foundation.
  • Automate manual processes and configurations to enable DIY capabilities and reduce dependency on tech teams.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation and conduct training sessions for relevant teams.
  • Lead the weekly LMS workstream meetings, managing priorities and actions based on the issue tracker.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Finance and other departments on all LMS-related matters, driving proactive problem-solving through cross-functional collaboration.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Issue Resolution:
  • Achieve 100% execution of issues reported by Finance and other internal users as tracked in the LMS issue tracker.
  • Responsiveness:
  • Provide feedback and progress updates on LMS issues within 24 hours.
  • Finance Support:
  • Ensure monthly financial system closure and related LMS support are completed by the 5th of each month.
  • System Automation:
  • Implement APIs or configurations that enable DIY functionality for internal teams, reducing over-reliance on Tech.
  • Cross-Country Support:
  • Provide timely LMS support to both Kenya and Uganda teams within a 24-hour SLA.
  • Risk Management:
  • Maintain zero major tech losses, with any Root Cause Analysis (RCA) showing no losses exceeding KES 20,000.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Maintain proper documentation of all LMS implementations and conduct monthly peer training sessions with developers to understand our core banking module and KT.
  • Leadership and Ownership:
  • Demonstrate senior-level ownership and communication, including same-day (24 hours) response rates and proactive task updates.
