Senior Research Fellow (Project Coordinator) - CEMA at University of Nairobi

Qualifications

You must hold one of the following:

• Master's degree in Public Health, Veterinary Medicine, Epidemiology, Clinical Studies, or a related field
• PhD in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field

Required Experience

• At least 10 years managing complex, donor-funded health or research projects in low-resource, multi-site settings with a focus on arid and semi-arid regions
• Demonstrated oversight of diverse field teams and cross-functional coordination
• Leadership experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders, including academic institutions, government agencies, local communities, and international donors
• Proven experience coordinating the implementation of field-based research projects
• Demonstrated expertise in zoonotic disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and health systems strengthening in pastoralist or rural communities
• Experience ensuring compliance with research protocols, ethical standards, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and/or Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
• Experience overseeing and supporting capacity-building initiatives for local research and health personnel
