Senior Registrar – Internal Medicine

About the Role

Join a leading healthcare organization as a Senior Registrar in Internal Medicine, specializing in Nephrology. Reporting to the Internal Medicine Specialist, you will provide comprehensive clinical management and perform clinical procedures for both inpatient and outpatient nephrology patients, delivering curative services in accordance with established protocols and the hospital's patient care objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as first on-call for the renal team, conducting initial patient assessments, treatment, stabilization, and referrals of acute patients to ensure optimal patient care during day and night shifts
• Perform non-emergency and emergency procedures in consultation with and under supervision of the Specialist and/or Consultant, including tunnelled and non-tunnelled hemodialysis catheters and kidney biopsies
• Conduct ward rounds for daily clinical progress monitoring and patient management in consultation with the Specialist and/or Consultant
• Mentor medical officers in clinical procedures to enhance knowledge and improve patient care delivery
• Participate in continuous medical education to develop and sharpen medical knowledge and skills in your specialty area
• Pursue mentorship opportunities in nephrology under a specialist or consultant, in compliance with specialist recognition requirements
• Participate in outpatient clinic patient reviews
• Contribute to research activities within your specialty area in line with established objectives
• Participate in the development and review of clinical protocols to enhance nephrology management
• Maintain high levels of patient confidentiality and professional ethics in accordance with applicable codes of conduct and hospital objectives
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements

• Master of Medicine degree in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution
