Senior Lecturer (Actuarial Science) at Karatina University

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Science to join our expanding academic team. This is an opportunity to contribute to teaching excellence, research advancement, and academic leadership within the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in actuarial science at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate projects and other experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at the graduate level
• Develop and enhance undergraduate and postgraduate course curricula
• Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects
• Participate in academic leadership programmes
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate linkages and fundraising opportunities
• Carry out administrative and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate degree or equivalent academic qualification
• Minimum of four (4) years of teaching or research experience at university level since appointment as Lecturer
• Demonstrated evidence of supervision of postgraduate degree students
• Attendance and contribution at academic conferences, seminars, or workshops
• Minimum of 4 publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer
• Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution of Kenya
