About the Role

Karatina University is seeking a dynamic Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Science to join an expanding academic team. This is a comprehensive teaching and research position at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in actuarial science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at the graduate level
• Develop new undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects
• Participate in academic leadership programmes
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate linkages and fundraising opportunities
• Carry out administrative duties and other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate degree or academic equivalent
• Minimum four (4) years of teaching or research experience at university level since appointment as Lecturer
• Demonstrated evidence of supervision of postgraduate degree students
• Attendance and contribution at academic conferences, seminars, or workshops
• Minimum of 4 publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
