Quality Control Technologist at Best Tropical Fruits Ltd

Primary Function

Lead all quality aspects at the factory, including raw material intake, inputs selection and use, processing flows, and finished product packing and shipment for dried fruits, fruit pulps, avocado oil, and other oils.

• Ensure all processing schedules are maintained and updated on a daily basis
• Contribute to product development of dried mango, banana, pineapple, pawpaw, and coconut products
• Contribute to product development of pulp products including mango, passion fruit, pawpaw, tree tomato, and tomato
• Drive overall product innovation, food quality improvement, cost innovation, productivity and capacity improvements across all lines of business

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain clean, efficient processing lines
• Ensure compliance with processing schedules and quality standards
• Address both project and non-project related quality issues as they arise
• Manage team performance and mentor technical staff
• Prepare comprehensive quality reports

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food technology, food science, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of senior-level experience in tropical fruit and vegetable processing, covering all aspects from basic grading to complex processing where raw materials are significantly altered
• Strong knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and quality standards and certification requirements in Kenya
• Familiarity with food safety legislation including HACCP and ISO standards
• Fluency in English
