Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) seeks experienced professors to provide leadership in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programmes. This position involves developing and executing research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilizing resources, mentoring academic staff and students, establishing academic-industry collaborations, and championing the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally in your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within the institution
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership to foster a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners on technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
