Key Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate their suitability
- Provide information and advice to patients regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage
- Maintain records, including pharmacy files, inventories, and control records for narcotics and controlled drugs
- Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities
- Plan, implement, or maintain procedures for packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal
- Analyze prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions
- Order and purchase pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs while maintaining stock and ensuring proper storage and handling
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a reputable institution
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital or busy health facility
- Pharmacy & Poisons Board certification (mandatory)
Required Skills
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Professional etiquette
