Operations Manager at Bles Dairies

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Operations Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of our dairy operations, including logistics, equipment management, team leadership, and budget control.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Planning

• Translate the commercial pipeline into clear weekly and daily execution plans
• Plan machine allocation, crew movements, and transport between sites
• Anticipate bottlenecks and resolve them before they impact field operations

Operational Execution

• Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at desired quality standards
• Maintain tight control on field performance and daily output

Machinery Park & Preventive Maintenance

• Take responsibility for the machine fleet and equipment park together with the General Manager
• Build and enforce a strong preventive maintenance culture
• Minimize breakdowns, downtime, and emergency repairs
• Ensure machines are used efficiently and responsibly

Team Leadership & Operational Processes

• Lead operators, mechanics, and crew leaders across all sites
• Enforce discipline, safety, accountability, and clear communication
• Build a reliable, professional field team that performs under pressure
• Develop and ensure safety protocols on site

Project Management & Budget Control

• Own operational project budgets together with Finance
• Control cost per acre, fuel per acre, and labor and repair costs
• Track actuals versus budget and correct deviations quickly

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in construction, transport/logistics, mining, or machinery-heavy agriculture
• Proven experience managing projects, machinery, and teams
• Strong interest in agriculture and machinery-intensive operations
• Strong process and planning mindset with proactive problem-solving approach
