Lecturer - Grade 6 (Academic)- Geography (Remote Sensing and GIS)

About the Position

National Defence University - NDU-K invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer Grade 6 in Geography, specializing in Remote Sensing and GIS.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Conduct research and produce publications or other research outputs
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research
• Participate in curriculum development and review
• Conduct examination preparation, administration, and management
• Participate in administration and management of departmental programmes and activities
• Develop learning materials
• Conduct community outreach activities
• Participate in the development and review of academic programmes
• Guide and counsel students
• Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars
• Perform any other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognized and accredited university (or a Master's degree qualification in special cases)
• At least three (3) years of teaching/research experience at university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow, OR six (6) years of research/industry experience
• A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) must be from refereed scholarly journals
• Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
• Registration or registrability with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
• Proficiency in Computer Applications
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance
