Interim Thematic Programme Advisor at Family for Every Child

About the Role

Family for Every Child is seeking an Interim Thematic Programme Advisor to co-manage and deliver the Children on the Move thematic priority and portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and position the organisation as a key global player in supporting vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-manage and deliver the Children on the Move thematic priority and portfolio
• Co-moderate the Children on the Move working group
• Project manage and support grant management, including reporting to and liaison with donors
• Coordinate inputs from members across the portfolio
• Support identification of suitable funders and collaborate with fundraising colleagues on funding proposals and applications
• Work with members and external consultants to develop research, policy, and advocacy initiatives, papers, and presentations
• Draft and edit policy statements, key messages, and technical material for online and print communications
• Develop strategic and influencing relationships with key external actors to strengthen the organisation's position in the Children on the Move space
• Identify representation opportunities for members and support preparation and briefings for their participation
• Respond to members' requests to take on representation opportunities
• Manage the Children on the Move portfolio budget and contribute to the rolling budget process
• Provide input to financial and operational management, including cost estimation and resource requirement planning

Employment Requirements

The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in Kenya. Family for Every Child does not support applications for working visas. Proof of entitlement (visa and/or passport) and a signed declaration for tax and social security purposes will be required to ensure compliance with local legislation.
