Graduate Trainee (Application Systems) at Pioneer Assurance

Main Purpose of the Job

Pioneer Insurance Holdings Limited seeks to recruit a Graduate Trainee (Application Systems) to form a critical pillar in the execution of the department's responsibilities and Digital Transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in software development, maintenance, and support for applications implemented in Java and Oracle Database
• Perform systems integration through web services
• Design and develop system reports
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on existing applications as reported by users
• Create or update technical system documentation including design documents, user manuals, and installation instructions
• Work closely with other developers and support specialists within the department

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Recent graduate (2024-2025)

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Intermediate understanding of Java programming language
• Strong understanding of SQL commands
• Sound understanding of data structures, database theory, and database administration
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including data normalization and software development life cycles
• Knowledge of Unix-based operating systems
• Good interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of Spring Boot Java framework
• Experience working on RESTful web services
• Experience with Oracle Database
• Experience in Android programming
• Knowledge of the insurance industry
