## Title: Gender Technical Assistance Intern

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to support gender integration initiatives across agricultural development projects in Nairobi, Kenya.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of gender technical assistance according to the IGNITE+ model
  • Contribute to strengthening institutional systems and structures for gender integration with IGNITE+ clients
  • Assist in designing and delivering participatory training, sensitization workshops, and seminars on gender integration for clients
  • Support the development and piloting of capacity building tools that integrate gender and nutrition into agricultural activities
  • Respond to routine client queries and escalate complex issues appropriately to ensure timely and accurate responses
  • Support the preparation of gender-related reports while adhering to corporate standards and quality controls
  • Accompany staff in partner meetings and workshops, contributing to project learning initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, anthropology, women's studies, or a related discipline
  • Recently completed master's degree in the above fields (within the last 12–18 months) or currently awaiting graduation
  • Good understanding of global and continental commitment mechanisms for gender in agriculture across government, NGO, and private sector stakeholders
  • Understanding of gender in agriculture and women's empowerment concepts and approaches

Key Competencies

  • Strong written communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and well-organized documents
  • Collaborative approach and openness to feedback
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with teams while navigating challenging or unexpected circumstances
  • Advanced computer skills in Windows-based environments, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Fluency in English
