## Title: Finance & Administration Intern

About the Internship

The Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network (KEWASNET) is expanding its team and seeking a talented Finance & Administration Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in financial management and administrative operations while supporting the Finance and Administration Department. You will provide efficient and effective accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative support services to help ensure the sound implementation of the Secretariat's functions.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Match and analyze payment documents
  • Support in preparing payment vouchers
  • Maintain records for stationery and office consumables

Office Administration Operations and Asset Management

  • Archive financial information and systematically file payment vouchers and other documents
  • Organize and manage office store operations
  • Support various office administration duties as assigned
  • Conduct periodic reviews and reporting on asset conditions; verify and update asset registers
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Assess accuracy and completeness of documents
  • Support preparation of cashbooks
  • Assist with periodic asset inventories and records reconciliation
  • Support grant reporting and preparations
  • Provide general support including document reviewing, budget analysis, project information, and communication as advised

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or CPA (in progress); preferably a final year student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (minimum grade B+ in KCSE or equivalent)
  • Exceptional analytical skills (minimum grade B+ in Mathematics KCSE)
  • Experience or coursework in relevant finance and accounting areas
