Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join KEDA Kenya Ceramics Company Limited in Nairobi as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce workplace safety standards
• Ensure effective emergency preparedness and response measures
• Conduct regular health and safety training for employees
• Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation
• Identify, assess, eliminate, and continuously monitor workplace risks and hazards
• Oversee the proper operation and management of the company clinic
• Develop, implement, and review health, safety, and environmental policies in line with current legislation and best practices
• Advise management and administration on all health and safety matters
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Education and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, or a related field
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar HSE role
• Relevant certification/accreditation in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and equipment operation

• Excellent written and spoken English
• Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Excel and data analysis tools
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Flexible and adaptable to a Monday–Saturday work schedule
