Engineer – Data Centre Management

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Technology Department as a Data Centre Engineer. This position reports to the Manager – Operations Support with secondary reporting to the Head of Department – Operations & Maintenance.

Position Purpose

Responsible for implementing and enforcing the management of space utilization, projects installation, acceptance, service provisioning, faults management, and preventive maintenance cycle management to ensure optimal data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support including monitoring system performance, making defect repairs, testing applications after changes, and system tuning
• Participate in team activities such as peer code reviews to improve the overall quality of team deliverables
• Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
• Manage and support third-party software developers and integration partners, both internal and external
• Research and develop new features, solutions, and technologies
• Manage faults, changes, and preventative maintenance activities ensuring maximum MTBF and minimal MTTR
• Implement and enforce data centre procedures pertaining to space, power, cooling, installation and acceptance, and change management
• Analyse trends, undertake root cause analysis, and identify key issues
• Provide clear and concise RCA documentation to facilitate continued improvement

Required Qualifications

Academic and Professional

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
• Higher Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Data centre certification course

• 2 years relevant experience
