## Title: Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Day Care Center (DCC) Teacher

Role Summary

The ECD/DCC Teacher plays a critical role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children by providing quality early childhood education and care within a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. The teacher supports the holistic development and well-being of every child, including cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and moral development, through age-appropriate, developmentally responsive activities.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The ECD & DCC Teacher is responsible for promoting the safety, well-being, development, and rights of children through quality early learning and care services.

Child Safeguarding and Welfare

  • Safeguard children at all times and act in the best interests of the child
  • Identify, document, and report any signs or concerns of child abuse, neglect, exploitation, or violence in accordance with safeguarding policies
  • Report any child welfare cases promptly to the Welfare & Safeguarding Assistant or relevant authority
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical handling of all child-related information
  • Promote children's rights, dignity, and protection in daily practice
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness and response measures to ensure child safety

Teaching, Learning, and Development

  • Deliver age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the approved ECDE syllabus and curriculum
  • Organize structured and unstructured activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, exploration, and learning about the world
  • Support holistic child development, including cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and moral growth
  • Foster school readiness skills such as independence, communication, cooperation, and positive learning attitudes
  • Observe children for developmental, emotional, or behavioral concerns and refer them appropriately
  • Support children with special needs or disabilities and coordinate with relevant support services
