Driving Instructor III at Bungoma National Polytechnic

About the Role

This is an entry-level instructional position at Bungoma National Polytechnic. The successful candidate will manage theory classes, teach driving students about traffic rules, and provide comprehensive instruction on safe driving procedures and emergency protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage theory class timings and maintain accurate student attendance records for both classroom and practical field sessions
• Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and deliver theory and practical driving instruction
• Assess and mark student work for both theory and practical components
• Instruct students on vehicle operation, safety checks, and emergency procedures
• Guide learners through the NTSA guideline and curriculum requirements
• Prepare learners for NTSA Driving exams
• Maintain and manage machines and equipment used in instruction
• Correspond with management regarding required materials, devices, and instructional kits
• Report equipment faults in a timely manner
• Prepare regular reports on instructional activities and student progress

Requirements for Appointment

• Valid Driving Instructor's license
• Valid Driving license with a clean driving record
• Accredited NTSA Instructor's number
• Minimum of two (2) years' work experience as a driving instructor
• Good conduct certificate
• Thorough knowledge of the NTSA Traffic Act and Regulations
• Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution
