About the Role

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. You will be responsible for safely transporting authorized personnel and goods while maintaining vehicle safety standards and supporting our organizational operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport authorized personnel to designated locations as scheduled
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and maintained in good working condition
• Conduct daily vehicle checks including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires; perform minor repairs and arrange for major repairs
• Report any mechanical issues promptly to supervisors
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules
• Adhere to all traffic laws and organizational transport policies
• Assist in loading and unloading goods when required
• Ensure security and safety of staff during transit
• Respond promptly to transport requests and emergencies
• Provide logistical support to staff members
• Complete all required documentation such as manifests and delivery receipts accurately
• Report any delays, accidents, or incidents immediately
• Participate in safety training programs as required
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 'O' level pass or equivalent
• Valid driving license (Category B, C, D, or E) with a clean driving record
• Fluency in English (written and oral) and strong command of Kiswahili
• At least 5 years of experience working in an NGO setting
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines
