Job Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have the following qualifications and experience:

Experience Requirements

• Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience
• A minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Assistant Director, Legal Services or in a comparable position

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws Degree or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Master's Degree in Law or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution

Professional Requirements

• Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
• Valid Practicing Certificate from the Law Society of Kenya
• Membership with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
