## Title: Deputy Director, Investment & Portfolio Management

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust (KNEST) as Deputy Director of Investment & Portfolio Management. This is a leadership position overseeing the investment operations and portfolio strategy of the Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of policies, regulations, guidelines, and strategy for fund management
  • Oversee the development of the Scheme's investment plans and strategy
  • Recommend to Trustees strategic investment opportunities
  • Establish linkages with strategic financial partners
  • Regularly meet with investment analysts and financial strategic partners to discuss investment opportunities
  • Provide leadership in analyzing business performance, industry trends, and existing or new regulatory requirements and their impact on business operations
  • Lead investment negotiations
  • Ensure investment portfolios are aligned with statutory guidelines and KNEST's strategic objectives
  • Undertake portfolio and investment research
  • Advise the Trustees on investment options and opportunities
  • Ensure optimal returns on investment
  • Coordinate acquisition and management of Scheme investments with the aim of increasing value and assuring best returns on investment
  • Set the criteria and conditions governing investments
  • Maintain proper investment records for all securities
  • Prepare all investment and periodic portfolio performance reports
  • In liaison with the Fund Manager, ensure preparation and filing of all statutory reports
  • Manage and develop staff in the department
  • Ensure prudent utilization of the Corporation's resources

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Finance option), Finance, Economics, or Business Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in a management role
