## Title: Dean of Students

About the Role

Kibabii University College is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as Dean of Students. This is a re-advertised position for an individual who will provide strategic leadership in student affairs and welfare.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • PhD in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Master's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • A minimum of three (3) years of service in the grade of Deputy Dean of Students Grade 14
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
  • Registration with a relevant professional body
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Strategic Leadership/Governance Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dean of Students will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with service departments that affect housing, health, catering, and student welfare, including guidance, counselling, and wardenship
  • Advising the Students Association on matters concerning its functions and regulating the expenditure of its finances
  • Administering elections for the Students' Organization of Kibabii University (SOKU) and overseeing smooth transitions between student councils
  • Arranging and coordinating entertainment, cultural activities, and co-curricular activities for students
  • Processing student non-academic disciplinary cases in consultation with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics and Students Affairs) for the Students Disciplinary Committee
  • Supervising and coordinating student publications and newspapers
  • Maintaining communication and dialogue between university management and students through their organization
