About the Role

Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our Finance team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for accurately processing financial data, maintaining database integrity, and supporting timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
• Input data provided directly from customers with accuracy and efficiency
• Create and maintain spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without errors
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Update existing data accurately and in a timely manner
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after data entry to ensure proper filing and prevent loss

Key Deliverables

• Timely and accurate preparation of daily cash flow reports
• Prompt processing of client payments following timely invoice receipt
• Safe storage and organization of documents for retrieval during internal, external, and statutory audits
• Strict adherence to company finance and accounting policies, procedures, and processes
• Timely and accurate posting of transactions on the financial management system

Required Skills and Competencies

• Fast typing skills
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
• Working knowledge of office equipment, computer hardware, and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of databases
• Strong command of English (oral and written)
• Good customer service skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Highest level of personal and professional integrity

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High School Certificate with an overall C+ grade or above
• C+ or above in Mathematics (mandatory)
