Data Analyst - CEMA at University of Nairobi

About the Role

The University of Nairobi seeks a dedicated Data Analyst to join the CEMA team. You will work with complex health datasets, ensuring data quality and delivering actionable insights through rigorous analysis and visualization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis and exploratory data analysis (EDA) on complex health datasets
• Perform data cleaning, validation, and quality control
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholder communication
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support research and operational objectives
• Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to extract insights

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Master's degree in Statistical Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in data analysis, data quality review, and data visualization
• Demonstrated experience working with complex health datasets, with a strong focus on data cleaning, validation, and quality control

Required Skills

• Proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, and exploratory data analysis techniques
• Advanced proficiency in statistical and programming software (R, Python, SQL, or similar)
• Strong skills in developing and maintaining dashboards and reports
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative work environment
