## Title: Credit Analyst

About the Role

The Credit Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and procedures while facilitating the management of credit risk in line with Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) prudential guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all internal and regulatory credit and portfolio-related policies
  • Maintain high turnaround time (TAT) for credit proposals
  • Ensure all appraisal decisions meet agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Coordinate efforts with Internal Audit and Branches to ensure adherence to Credit Policy and lending guidelines
  • Review loan security margins based on current market trends and advise management on necessary adjustments
  • Review and make recommendations on all new loan facilities
  • Ensure proper reporting, documentation, and review to verify that lending to respective segments is within acceptable risk parameters
  • Manage credit risks through analysis and recommendation of approvals for facilities within the institution's tolerable risk levels
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the Chief Credit Officer

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or any other relevant business-related field
  • Minimum 5 years' banking experience with at least 3 years' experience in Credit Analysis
  • Professional qualification in Credit (preferred)

  • Substantial knowledge of credit and risk analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • In-depth industry and product knowledge
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant applications
  • Good knowledge of regulatory policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of the Kenyan economy and market dynamics
