County WASH Engineer – Turkana WASH Hub at Artemis Outsourcing Limited

Position Overview

We are seeking a County WASH Engineer to be based in Turkana County. This position will support the County WASH Hub in strengthening monitoring and evaluation of water supply initiatives while improving coordination across the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: UNICEF WASH Specialist (Sanitation & Hygiene)/Chief of WASH

Background

The County WASH Hub integrates all WASH activities to improve coordination across the sector. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Units within these hubs provide critical technical support to all stakeholders at the county level. The upgrade from county sanitation hubs to comprehensive WASH hubs ensures that M&E units can conduct training on water supply monitoring, provide progress updates, enhance partner coordination, and leverage resources.

Purpose of the Position

This position provides technical support to the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit at the County Ministry of Water Services to strengthen monitoring and evaluation of county-level water supply initiatives. The role also strengthens partnerships and knowledge-sharing among various partners to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all.

Supervision: Overall supervision from the County Director of Water, working closely with the M&E Consultant based at the WASH Hub in the Ministry of Health in Nairobi, with technical guidance from the WASH Specialist at UNICEF Lodwar Zonal Office.
