County Chief Officer - Trade, Cooperatives, Enterprise & Industrialization

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to serve as County Chief Officer for Trade, Cooperatives, Enterprise & Industrialization with the Siaya County Government.

Reporting Structure

You will report to the respective County Executive Committee Member and serve as the authorised accounting officer of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer the county department
• Ensure effective service delivery through implementation of laid out policies and regulations
• Implement County Executive Committee resolutions as guided by the Executive Committee Member
• Implement policies and development plans
• Develop and implement Strategic Plans in consultation with the Executive Committee Member
• Promote national values and principles of governance and public service as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010

Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Hold a first degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya
• Have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position
• Possess general knowledge of County Government and its functions
• Demonstrate understanding of County goals, policies, and developmental objectives
• Demonstrate leadership and management capacity, including knowledge of financial management and strategic people management skills
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya

Terms of Service

• 3-year contract renewable annually subject to performance
• Remuneration and benefits as prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
