## Title: Italian Cook

Job Purpose

The Cook shall be responsible for portioning, preparing, and cooking food products according to instructions and/or recipes, with a specialization in Italian cuisine.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Prepare dishes as needed
  • Maintain proper storage temperatures, cooling, freezing, and reheating procedures
  • Operate kitchen equipment and inspect equipment for cleanliness
  • Serve food, salad, bread, main dish items, sandwiches, and other food items in appropriate portions
  • Replenish supply of food items on serving line
  • Store and/or dispose of unused food properly
  • Maintain necessary supplies and goods for assigned meals
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the establishment
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Food Production or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine preparation (required)
  • KCSE Grade C- (Minus) or equivalent
  • One (1) year of working experience in a comparable position
