## Title: Community Oral Health Officer

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Community Oral Health Officer to join our dynamic team at Bliss Healthcare. The position holder is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered oral healthcare to all patients visiting our medical center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care to all patients
  • Assess dental conditions and needs of patients using defined dental patient screening and monitoring protocols
  • Analyze x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary, including medical history review and dental chart procedures
  • Conduct, develop, mount, and trace radiographs required for corrective treatment
  • Undertake treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment, tools, and established oral health procedures
  • Manage and maintain dental department inventory including consumables, equipment, and instruments
  • Maintain stock control procedures for dental services to ensure accountability
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in the dental profession
  • Provide patient education on dental care and oral health
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
  • Contribute clinical dental expertise to patient care initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties and risk management
  • Document patient dental history, chief complaints, and observations, including laboratory procedures, and ensure follow-up on results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health
  • Registration with the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)
  • Valid annual practice license
  • BLS Certification
  • Proficiency in computer application packages
  • Wide knowledge of the health industry
  • Technical skills and leadership competencies

Required Experience

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role in a busy hospital setting

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
