Job description
## Title: Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate – Nairobi & Nakuru
Role Objective
A prominent medium-sized law firm specializing in various practice areas is recruiting 2 advocates to join their team in commercial and conveyancing law.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property and real estate
- Draft conveyancing documents and legal documents
- Prepare and send terms of engagement and fee estimates with disbursements
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
- Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
- Provide legal advice on commercial and corporate transactions
- Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts and legal documents, ensuring proper execution
- Advise clients on legal processes involved in purchasing and selling property
- Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions
- Prepare sale agreements, completion documents, and ensure proper registration with relevant authorities
- Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed and scheduled
- Assist with due diligence on intellectual property issues related to contracts, agreements, and transactional matters
- Prepare security documents
- Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
- Perform any other duties as assigned
