Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate – Nairobi & Nakuru at Emerge Egress Consulting

About the Role

A prominent medium-sized law firm specializing in various practice areas is seeking 2 advocates to join their team. In this role, you will provide legal expertise across commercial and property matters, managing client relationships and overseeing all aspects of conveyancing and commercial transactions.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property, real estate, and commercial transactions
• Draft conveyancing documents, legal documents, and security documents
• Send terms of engagement and prepare estimates of fees and disbursements
• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
• Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
• Conduct negotiations and draft, review, and execute commercial contracts and legal documents
• Offer legal advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling of property
• Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions and prepare sale agreements and completion documents
• Ensure proper registration of documents with relevant authorities
• Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are properly executed and signed
• Assist with due diligence and intellectual property issues related to contracts and transactional matters
• Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients
• Perform any other duties as assigned
