## Title: Claims Analyst
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to assess, process, and pay valid claims to ensure timely settlement within Liberty Life's claims management guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process claims accurately and in a timely manner according to established guidelines to achieve customer service standards
- Analyze documentation submitted by clients to ensure credibility and compliance with Liberty claims processing guidelines
- Register all new claims promptly and acknowledge receipt
- Advise claimants on basic matters regarding their insurance coverage in relation to their claims
- Respond to internal and external claims inquiries concerning claims process, service providers, and proper form filing/completion
- Record all claims transactions
- Prepare claims registers and update various claims reports
- Maintain claims records according to Liberty guidelines on record management to ensure information accessibility and data integrity
- Maintain claims register accuracy
- Prepare quality reports in a timely manner for submission and review
- Reconcile claim reserves and paid claims
- Create and reconcile claims reserves and make reinsurance recoveries upon settlement for group risk
- Manage maturity and surrender suspense including premium refunds
- Process and disburse pension claims and related payments, including withholding taxes, trustees', and service providers' fees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance or a business-related field
- Professional qualification in Insurance (LOMA, ACII, or AIIK)
Experience
- At least 2 years' experience in claims, pension administration, or underwriting role in the life insurance industry
Competencies
- In-depth understanding of life insurance operations and concepts
