## Title: Business Development Manager - Coast Region
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as a Business Development Manager covering the Coast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business and manage client relationships within the professional services sector
- Develop, implement, and track comprehensive annual Business Development and Marketing strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients and stakeholders
- Travel regularly within the Coast region, to Nairobi headquarters, and to other regional African offices as required
- Work collaboratively with partners and lawyers to encourage participation in Business Development activities
- Articulate complex legal matters in a commercial context to clients
- Execute digital and non-digital marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) with current practicing status
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a senior Business Development or Client Relationship Management role
- Significant experience within a professional services environment in a law firm
- Proven track record of generating new business and measurable results
- Deep understanding of the local economy (tourism, port, trade, real estate, etc.) within the Kenyan Coast region (Kilifi, Malindi, Kwale, Lamu, and surrounding areas)
- Exceptional networking, interpersonal, and public relations skills
- Solid knowledge of digital and non-digital marketing techniques and communications strategy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to influence busy partners and lawyers
Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced degree: Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or specialized Master's in Marketing
- Professional certification (e.g., CIM, Project Management/PMP)
- Experience working with organizations with multi-jurisdictional or regional African presence
- Proficiency in Kiswahili (especially vital for the Coast region)
