Assistant Student Counsellor III

An officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Dean of Students. Position Overview: Duties and Responsibilities at this level will entail: - - Conducting client intake and individual counseling and guidance sessions; - Maintaining consistent follow-up with the students to ensure sustainable improvement; - Preparing materials to assist in organizing counseling seminars and workshops; - Participating in student’s orientation exercise to familiarize them with counseling services at the University; - Documenting and updating clients’ records; - Maintaining safe custody and confidentiality of counseling records; and - Participating in the recruitment and training of peer educators. Job Specifications For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: - - Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatry or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and accredited institution; - Relevant technical and professional certification from a recognized institution; - Valid practicing license from the relevant professional body; and - Registered with relevant professional body (where applicable).
