Assistant Professor in Machine Learning and Big Data/ Data Science at United States International University - USIU Africa

Job Summary

The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School of Science and Technology (SST) and will be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in the specific areas of specialization
• Support and mentor students in their career endeavors
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs remain up-to-date and marketable
• Participate in program assessment and reviews
• Supervise students' research (projects, theses, and dissertations) at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Conduct research in your area of expertise
• Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from an accredited university
• At least 3 years of teaching and/or research experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Research Fellow
• A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer/Research Fellow as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which at least twenty-four (24) must be from refereed scholarly journals
• Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow
• Registration with the relevant professional body, where applicable
