Agriculture, Biology Teacher – Junior Secondary School

About the Role

Yatima Outreach Organization is seeking a dedicated Agriculture and Biology Teacher for our Junior Secondary School in Nairobi, Kenya. You will play a vital role in delivering quality education and fostering student development in a Christ-centered learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive syllabus coverage and maintain high-quality teaching standards to achieve effective learning outcomes
• Coordinate co-curricular activities and school-based events within your assigned area
• Enforce school policies, procedures, and behavioral standards to maintain order and discipline among students
• Build and maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with parents, guardians, and sponsors
• Promote Christian values within the school community through regular devotional and prayer sessions
• Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
• Maintain accurate and relevant school records to required standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Education, B.Ed Degree, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya
• Minimum 2 years of work experience
• TSC license and CBC compliance
• Born again Christian
• Competent in teaching Agriculture and Biology or relevant subject combinations
• Thorough understanding of Kenyan education systems, standards, and trends
• Knowledge of the Children's Act, teachers' code of ethics, and child protection policies
• Familiarity with relevant government policy and legislation
• Understanding of local social dynamics and geographical context (advantageous)
